Roll back of Yaesu drivers

In general, you should only use drivers that are downloaded from the Yaesu Website.  However, Windows update can sometimes download an updated driver from the Silicon Labs website.  The problem is, that there have been several bugs in the Silicon Labs drivers which do not work correctly with .NET.  Therefore you may need to roll back the driver to a known good driver.  Such a driver is one located here: Yaesu USB driver

If it should happen that you have a new version than 10.1.2.2115 installed on your PC you will need to roll back the driver.  Follow these instructions carefully:

  1. First make sure your radio is on and the USB cable is plugged in.
  2. Open the control panel and select the device manager
  3. Expand the ports section.
  4. Locate the comport and right click on it.
  5. Select Uninstall device and click on the check box, Delete the driver software for this device
  6. Click the uninstall button.
  7. When this is complete unplug the USB cable and reboot the computer leaving the cable uninstalled.
  8. When the computer has finished rebooting, download the correct driver from the above link.
  9. Next you will install the new driver:  Make sure the USB cable is NOT connected.
  10. Expand the zip file and then click on the installation file for your system (64bit windows or 32 bit windows)
  11. Do the install.
  12. When complete, reboot your system.
  13. When your system is rebooted, plug in your cable.
  14. You will then have the correct driver.
